Why People Use PixDuplicate's Rotator

Any Angle You Need

Use the preset buttons for 90°, 180°, or drag the slider for a custom angle. Something slightly crooked? Nudge it a few degrees.

Flip and Mirror

Flip horizontally or vertically with a click. Fix mirrored photos or create symmetrical effects.

Rotate a Whole Batch

Apply the same rotation to a bunch of images in one go. Good for prepping a folder of sideways phone photos.

Nothing Gets Uploaded

Everything runs in your browser. Your images never leave your device—no servers, no cloud.

Download Everything at Once

Grab all your rotated images as a ZIP so you're not downloading them one at a time.

Works with GIFs

Rotate animated GIFs and WebP files and keep the animation when you export to a compatible format.

How the Rotator Works

Turning images the right way up—without sending them anywhere

Step 1: Add your images

Drag and drop files, browse for them, or paste an image URL. Supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP (including animated), and BMP up to 50MB each.

Try the example image first if you just want to poke around before uploading anything of your own.

Step 2: Rotate and flip

A few ways to do it:

Slider: drag to any angle from 0° to 360° with a live preview

Quick buttons: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°

Flip horizontal or vertical with a checkbox

Pick a background color for the empty areas after rotation

Step 3: Set the output

Decide how you want the rotated version saved:

Format: pick based on what you're using it for

Quality: for JPEG and WebP, adjust compression to balance size and quality

Process one or all: rotate a single image or run the whole batch

Preview: compare the original and rotated versions before you commit

Step 4: Download

Once done:

Check your rotated images in the results gallery with transformation details shown

Download individual files with filenames that show what was done

Or grab everything as a ZIP

Clear results or reset and start fresh whenever

Tip: If you've got a folder of photos all taken the same way (sideways phone shots, scanned documents), set your rotation once, hit 'Process All,' and you're done.

Your Images Stay on Your Device

Unlike other online rotators, PixDuplicate does all the work locally in your browser. That means:

Your images never leave your device
No uploads, no cloud processing
No sign-up or personal info needed
Completely free with no limits
No watermarks added to your rotated images
Works offline after the page loads

What Users Are Saying

Photographers, designers, and people with sideways phone photos use PixDuplicate to fix them

Hollis Bergstrom

"Scanned a stack of old family photos and half came out sideways. Ran them all through with 90° CW and it fixed the batch in one go. The ZIP download is a nice touch."

Amara Osei

"The custom angle slider is what I needed. I shoot architecture and some buildings have natural tilt—this lets me straighten by 2-3 degrees without overcorrecting. Nothing gets squished either."

Corey Lindstrom

"Works fine but I kept forgetting to check the background color for non-90° rotations. That's on me though, not the tool. The flip options saved a few mirrored selfies for me."

Yasmin Khalil

"I work with a lot of product photos that come in at every conceivable angle. Batch rotate, flip the ones that need it, done. Being able to process without uploading matters when the photos aren't mine yet."

Trevor Nash

"The GIF support caught me off guard—I didn't expect a free browser tool to handle animated files properly. Rotated an animated logo for a client and it came out smooth. Would recommend."

Sloane Whitfield

"I run a small print shop and get customer files in every orientation. This has become part of my prep workflow. The interface is clean and I didn't need to read anything to figure it out. Would be nice if presets saved between sessions."

Common Questions

Does it work with animated images?

Yes. GIF and animated WebP files keep their animation when you export to GIF or WebP. If you export to a static format like PNG or JPEG, the animation is dropped but the first frame is preserved at full quality.

Is there a file size limit?

Up to 50MB per image. No strict limit on how many you process, but huge batches can slow your browser down. If you're doing 50+ at once, you might want to do them in chunks.

Which formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP (static and animated), and BMP. You can output to any of those—animation is preserved when you pick a compatible output format.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser. Your images never get uploaded anywhere—not to us, not to anyone.

Can I rotate multiple images at once?

Yes. Upload multiple images, set your rotation and flip options, then hit 'Process All.' Download everything as a ZIP when you're done.

Why would I need to rotate or flip an image?

Photos taken sideways, scanned documents at the wrong orientation, images that need mirroring for design work, collections that need to be standardized. All kinds of reasons.

Does rotating hurt image quality?

No. Rotating just repositions the pixels—nothing is lost. For JPEG and WebP output, you can adjust quality to balance file size and sharpness.

Can I use custom angles?

Yes. The slider goes from 0° to 360° so you can set any angle, not just the common ones. Handy for straightening slightly crooked photos.

What happens to the empty space when I rotate at an odd angle?

When you rotate by something other than a multiple of 90°, the corners of the image don't fill the frame. The leftover space gets filled with whatever background color you pick—or transparency if you're saving as PNG.

Can I combine rotation and flipping?

Yes. Rotate and flip at the same time if you need to. Both transformations get applied in a single step.
