How does it actually find duplicates?

We compare what's in the image—pixels, colors, patterns—not just the filename or file size. So even if a photo was renamed, converted to a different format, or slightly resized, we can still spot it.

Will it work if the duplicate is a different file format?

Yes. It can catch a JPEG copy of a PNG original, for example. Format doesn't matter—what's in the image does.

Can it find similar images or just exact copies?

Both. You can adjust how strict the matching is. Want only exact duplicates? Tighten the threshold. Want near-matches too? Loosen it up.

Is my privacy safe when using this?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser—nothing gets uploaded. Your images stay on your device the entire time.

What if I accidentally delete the wrong file?

You'll see previews before you act, and we'd recommend using 'Move to Duplicates Folder' first so you can review before deleting. That way you always have an out.

Can this handle a huge photo collection?

Yes. For very large collections (thousands of images), use 'Quick Search' first to see if it's worth the deeper scan. Then switch to standard search for precision on the groups that matter.

What image formats work with this tool?

JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, BMP, and most other common formats. It can find duplicates even when the same image is saved in different formats.

How accurate is the detection?

Depends on your similarity setting. At strict settings, it's near-perfect for exact duplicates. At looser settings, you'll get more similar matches—with a slightly higher chance of false positives you can review manually.

Does it work on phones or tablets?

Not well. Folder access on mobile browsers is limited, so this tool is built for desktop Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

Can I search across multiple folders at once?
